知名導演華特沙勒斯在《中央車站》、《革命前夕的摩托車日記》之前，最開始引起國際注目的傑作。一個是人在巴西，渴望一探西班牙聖薩巴斯提安、完成母親遺願的青年，另一個是人在葡萄牙，希望回歸祖國巴西的女子。隔著大西洋，兩人因為走私任務，讓彼此命運緊緊銜接，但接連的意外發生，又讓兩人成為亡命鴛鴦，展開一場綺戀。
A young Brazilian is offered a job as a courier to Lisbon by a dealer in order to travel to Spain for his mother’s dream. When he gets there, the contact is dead and he finds himself on the run from his employers. He runs into the contact’s girlfriend who dreams to back to Brazil. They have to run desperately before get killed.
