導演於十六歲時，帶著阿嬤送的一枚戒指，以及在媽祖廟祈求的一份平安與期待離開北港。自此之後，媽祖成為記憶中熟悉的想望、理解中的陌生。多年後導演帶著回鄉的探詢眼光，仔細觀察阿嬤、身邊的家人，以及記憶中媽祖的今日樣貌，拍的是眾多北港子弟、雲林子弟回望故鄉的熟悉與陌生，紀錄下一段遇見自己的旅程。
When I was a teenager and left my hometown Beigang, I carried a ring from my granny who wishes that Mazu might bless me all the time. Almost two decades later, I go back to see my grandma and understand her story, and realize her religious. And of course, it’s a trip for me to coming home.
