即將前往南方工作的吳正冬，臨走前參加了同學聚會，在歌舞昇平的KTV中，他看見老同學們有人騰達、有人失意，但他最期待的，莫過於見到杜蕊蕊。在這個不眠夜，兩人重新檢視了自己的生活，他們不再驕傲與天真，試著找回自己的意義。1983年出生的黃凱，是大陸最年輕的導演之一，首部劇情長片便獲得賈樟柯大力讚賞，並成為去年廣受國際矚目的獨立製片。
It's Dong's last day in Shanghai before his three-year job transfer to the southern city of Shenzhen. He attends an alumni party held in a karaoke bar. Inside one building, Dong weaves in and out of two different parties and meets his former girlfriend Rerei. The sleepless night makes all of characters reflect on the choices they ever made in their lives.
