Luis, a flagrant homosexual convicted on a morals charge, shares a dreary prison cell with Valentin, a clandestine revolutionary who has been endlessly tortured by authorities in a South American prison. To escape reality Luis dwells in romantic movies, while Valentin tries to keep his mind on the situation he's in. Gradually, the two men come to understand and respect one another.
