誰能瞭解十一歲少年的複雜內心，除了面對家家有本難唸的經，還要打入新環境、加入班上最酷帥的小團體，以及偷偷愛戀班上的小美女，在自我感覺良好與現實生活的兩方拉扯，且看1981那一年，嘴砲少年如何拯救他的青春期危機，找到真正的自我。導演以幽默而世故的成人口白、魔幻搞怪的想像世界，重現一個大人都曾經歷過的難搞歲月。

In 1981, eleven-year-old Ricardo doesn’t understand the word “mortgage” but fully feels its impact. He is the new kid in a class where the others are from wealthy backgrounds. To avoid being exposed, Ricardo resorts to inventing a new family history until he can no longer ignore the reality of his family’s situation. He must decide how to build on his true identity.
