《天虹戰隊小學》導演最新作品，這回主角長大了，三個個性迥異，資質與家庭環境也不同的青少年死黨，有如《風櫃來的人》裡的少年般，一起調皮搗蛋，也一起情竇初開。受到熱情教師感召，他們決心努力用功，以便到雅加達念大學，日後出國看世界。導演再次以局內人的角度，用幽默而帶點懷舊的方式，描述自己在印尼社會的成長經驗。

The film tells the story of three juveniles who leave their families in order to continue their education. They are inspired by their teacher to pursue big dreams, but the humiliation of poverty leads to strain their friendship. With tales of marginalization and the heartbreaking struggle to reach dreams, The Dreamer shows the beauty of friendship and the love between father and child.
