傳說中將電影事業帶進中國，有「中國電影之王」美名的班傑明布洛斯基，在《中國電影發展史》的專書中卻只一筆帶過。到底誰是布洛斯基？幾位電影學者於是展開了「追尋布洛斯基」的旅程，足跡遍及台灣、香港、中國大陸、日本及美國，在追溯這位謎樣人物於中國電影事業的同時，也勾勒電影這個當時的新興娛樂型態進入中國的歷史脈絡。

 

1913, “the legendary Chinese Film King” Benjamin BRODSKY set up the first film studio in Shanghai. However his contribution to Chinese film history was scarcely documented. Professor Gene-Fon Liao started his quest of “searching for BRODSKY” in order to note down the footmarks of early Chinese film history. This film traces the journey of revealing this hidden history and the influence of BRODSKY’s films.
