The actress and director Kinuyo TANAKA had a career as significant to Japan as Lillian GISH’s to US, it spanned the silent movie era into the 1970s. This biographical drama covers her career when she is working on The Life of Oharu (1952). In addition to reviewing her life, the movie provides a brief tutorial in the history of Japanese cinema.
